Kaya is a small village of 2907 hectares in Girwa Tehsil in Udaipur district, also called 'the city of lakes' set amidst the Aravalli Ranges in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kaya depends on Udaipur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 8.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Kaya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Kaya's pin code is 313801[4], and village code is 03158100. The area of Kaya is segregated as 22 hectares irrigated area, 130 hectares unirrigated, the 103 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 2069 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Kaya has One post office and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Kaya has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Kaya is a census village in the district of Udaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2570 and has total administration over 480 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Kaya has 545 children, 269 boys and 276 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 35 (1.36%) males constitute 17 (0.66%) of the population and females 18 (0.70%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 2120 (82.49%) males constitute 1075 (41.83%) of the population and females 1045 (40.66%).

The workforce is 624 male, 94 female with 653 (90.95%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 584 males and 69 females. 123 males and 12 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 12 male and 2 female agricultural labor. 65 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Udaipur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
