Dodecanese

From Conservapedia

The Dodecanese Islands are an archipelago in the Aegean Sea off the coast of Turkey comprising twelve major islands (hence the name) and around 150 smaller islands, islets and rocks. They were occupied by Italy between 1912 and 1943, and by Germany between 1943 and 1945. They were formally united with Greece in 1947.
