Subverse is an upcoming crowdfunded tactical RPG shoot 'em up hybrid erotic video game being developed by FOW Interactive for Microsoft Windows.
The gameplay has been repeatedly described as similar to Mass Effect, but with "alien porn" and an emphasis on erotic interactions.[1][2]
The game is set in the Prodigium Galaxy, a distant corner of the universe ruled over by the Imperium. The five nebulae that make up the Prodigium Galaxy are: the Dragon Nebula (home of the Imperium); the Hydra Nebula (home to the Kloi); the Kraken nebula (home to the Nikith and Vannera); the Yeti Nebula (home to the Teelee); and the Griffin Nebula (a colony established by stranded humans of a prison convoy with no way to return to Earth).
Subverse is the debut commercial video game of FOW Interactive, a video game studio of the computer-animated pornography company Studio FOW. Crowdfunding for Subverse on Kickstarter has raised over £1.6 million within one month of as of May 24, 2019, making the game one of the top twenty highest-funded Kickstarter games to date.[1][3][4][5] Originally set for release in May/June 2019 in early access, the decision was made to cancel it, as they were advised by more experienced developers they hired that maintaining an early access model for a game of this size would be unwise.[6] The game is still in production.
