The Democratization Of American Christianity

From Conservapedia

The Democratization of American Christianity (1989) is a book written by Nathan O. Hatch and published by Yale University Press. It is a study of religion from the American revolution until the first quarter of the 19th century (the period from 1780 to 1830). The book is a new analysis of this period and a rejection of much of Second Great Awakening thesis. Hatch finds that this revival period was more one of social turmoil than a spreading of religious enlightenment.
