This measure sought to issue a bond in the amount of $4.8 million in order to help pay for a new school facility as well as help pay for equipping and improving the school building.[2]

The question on the ballot:

Shall the Board of Education of Rochelle Community Consolidated School District Number 231, Ogle and Lee Counties, Illinois, build and equip a school building, improve the site thereof and issue bonds of said School District to the amount of $4,878,694 for the purpose of paying the costs thereof?[3]
