Christianity And Liberalism

Premise[edit]

You can not be a Christian and in good conscience support a position completely opposite the will of God as expressed in the holy scriptures.

1 Corinthians 10:21 (KJV) "Ye can not drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of devils and demons, ye can not be partakers of the Lord's table and of the table of the devils and demons.

Issues[edit]

Christendom today has a dangerous blight on it. This blight is growing and spreading, eating away at Christian foundations like a cancer, threatening to change the face of Christianity completely. This blight is the so called "neo-liberalism". Liberals, compromise in exchange for "acceptance" by society. As Christians we are called to participate in this world, but not be a part of it, and as Christians we are failing, trading this essential morality. the compromise of our morals has been tagged by the liberals as a necessary concession to "tolerance". Tolerance means that we treat everyone on an equal table, without hatred, it does not mean surrendering core principles, or forming part of an ever dropping common denominator, and this is what is happening. To take someone who is politely standing up for their legitimate beliefs, that are opposite to the liberal framework, and persecute them for bigotry, is intolerance in itself. Keeping the above thoughts in mind, we must realize that we can not trade our morals for acceptance. Failure to take action or stand up for your beliefs is just as bad or worse than the sin itself, it's not you or the religion that the world hates; it's God, Jesus Christ, and his divine message that state we are all guilty and require redemption (John 7:7).

New Gospel?[edit]

This new attitude of moral laxity (i.e. same-sex "marriage", pre-martial sex, homosexuality, legalization of marijuana, etc.) can be in effect tagged as a new Gospel message, it is nowhere to be found in the accounts of the apostles concerning the Lord. A good example of this is the term "gospel of disgrace", a term that minister Tom Wilkins, has given to heretical teachings by so-called ministers supporting homosexuality in their ministerial duties. See for example [1]. God clearly states his position on homosexuality— there is no ambiguity —and he clearly states there is only one message. Galatians 1:9 states, "if any man preaches any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, then let him be accursed." and Galatians 1:7 says "there be some that would pervert the gospel of Christ." There is a clear connection between this perverted attitude and the rise in the 20st century of the prevalence of philosophical rivals to Christianity; materialism, universalism, and moral relativity.

Connection to New Ageism?[edit]

Synonymous with this blight is the trend of "new age mysticism" becoming ever more "pop culture", horoscopes, astrology, crystals, etc. The spirit of creation, nature, is honored in the materialist theory of evolution, without acknowledging the spirit of God embodied within. Romans 1:21 mentions that "when they knew God they glorified him, not as God, neither were they thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish hearts were darkened." The new-agers make up and invent gods and goddesses to explain their false universal perception of God as nature, the creation, rather than the creator. Additionally, many of these new-agers profess to be wizened philosophers, more intelligent than us woeful Christians. The Bible also accounts for these so-named intellectuals— "professing themselves to be wise, they became fools." (Romans 1:22) The new-agers take the glory of God and bestow it on mankind in an attempt to diminish the foundations of Christianity in society and make man more self-important. They reject the historical truth that our nation was founded with Christian men on Christian principles, and they are enshrined in our constitution. They "changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man." (Romans 1:23) Additionally, as stated above, they take all these things and change the truth in the Bible into a new "tolerance" of opposition to God's will. Romans finishes on this subject with verse 25, "they who changed the truth of God into a lie and worshiped the creature more than the creator who is blessed forever".

Rejection of Biblical scientific truth[edit]

A part of the liberal attack on the Christian community is the scorn of the Bible as a document of eternal truth. The Bible clearly describes a round earth [Isaiah 40:22, "the circle of the earth"], the existence of outer space [Isaiah 55:9, "the heavens are higher than the earth"], the hydro-logic cycle [Ecclesiastes 1:7, "all rivers run into the sea, the sea isn't full, from where the rivers came they return"], the innumerability of the stars [Jeremiah 33:22, "The host of the heaven can not be numbered"], the importance of blood in the organism [Leviticus 17:11, "the life of the flesh is in the blood"], and atmospheric circulation [Ecclesiastes 1:6, "the wind whirled around continually"]. With the wholesale willful rejection of these obvious truths, the Bible has been subverted as a truth document, which has been a major blow to the Christian community.
