Military readiness means the ability -- or lack thereof -- of a military to be deployed and fight effectively at any particular moment. The concept takes into consideration factors such as a lack of service members in certain essential areas, a lack of certain types of equipment or spare parts, a lack of experience, and low morale.
There are 277 references in federal court decisions as of December 25, 2022, to "military readiness," and a few additional references by state court decisions. Typically the references are in connection with viewing it as a national goal or public interest, rather than as a valid interest of a plaintiff in the case. In 22 of those decisions, the judicial reference is to the Center for Military Readiness, a non-profit group.
Paul referred in the Bible several times to "readiness" in a spiritual sense.
