Sorai is a small village of 369 hectares in Lachhmangarh Tehsil in Alwar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sorai depends on GOVINDGARH, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sorai is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Sorai's pin code is 321607[4], and village code is 00929200. The area of Sorai is segregated as 202.4 hectares irrigated area, 120 hectares unirrigated, the 32 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 15 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Sorai has One post office (Sorai B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Sorai has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Sorai is a census village in the district of Alwar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1292 and has total administration over 201 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Sorai has 233 children, 114 boys and 119 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 117 (9.06%) males constitute 63 (4.88%) of the population and females 54 (4.18%).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of GOVINDGARH and Alwar to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
