Muay Thai is a traditional Thai martial art, and is the national sport of Thailand.
It is very much like boxing, except that it also uses kicks, and elbow strikes are also used. The clinch is also used more often than in boxing. Muay Thai is also well known for its pre-fight ritual (wai khru), which consists of a stylized dance and Buddhist prayer.
Muay Thai is also practiced in nearby Southeast Asian countries, but has a different name in the country it is practiced in. For example, it is called Pradal serey in Cambodia, Tomoi in Malaysia, Lethwei in Burma, and Muay Lao in Laos.
