Serie A

From Conservapedia

Serie A is the top flight of soccer in Italy. The league is one of the best in Europe, based on quality of play and general buying power. However, in 2006, a match-fixing scandal rocked the league and relegated four teams, two of which are recognized throughout the globe. Now, with new players, and a new focus, the league is ready to prove itself on the international stage once again.

The Serie A champions in the season 2016-17 were Juventus FC.

The league formed a new company in October 2022 with the possibility of selling 10% of its media rights, which it had valued the prior year at $2 billion, However, Aurelio De Laurentiis, who owns the successful Serie A team Napoli, prefers the league retain full control of its content and merely sell streaming rights. "Goldman Sachs, Searchlight Capital, and Apollo Global Management have all shown interest in acquiring a stake in the new company."[1]
