The Rockefeller Foundation is a major U.S. philanthropic organization formed in 1913. It is significantly associated with the start of funding for formal medical research programs. [1] It is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation.

Its current work focuses on five interrelated initiatives: [2]
