Jewelry

From Conservapedia

Jewelry is an item that is used as decoration or adornment. Often of a precious metal and gemstone it may also be any material that looks nice. Common today are necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings. The rings and studs used for body piercings are also considered jewelry.

Gold, silver and platinum are metals used for jewelry since they are non-reactive in contact with the skin. Jewelry made from brass or copper will leave a green stain from the copper salts produced by reaction with the acid of sweat. Cheaper jewelry may use copper as a base which is electroplated with silver or gold. Copper and brass may also be lacquered.

Beads of wood, stone,or shells are often found in primitive works.
