Baraut is a small village of 293 hectares in Handia Tehsil in Allahabad district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Baraut depends on Bharatganj (NP), the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One Well supply, One tubewell and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Baraut's pin code is 221502[4], and village code is 05612500. The area of Baraut is segregated as 111 hectares irrigated area, 57 hectares unirrigated area. the 81 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 44 hectare area not available for cultivation.
Baraut has One post office (Baraut S.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Baraut has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with One recreational center.

According to a census 2011 report, 3297 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 2072 male, 1225 female with 1842 (55.87%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1439 males and 403 females. 175 males and 39 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 97 male and 35 female agricultural labor. 1455 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Bharatganj (NP) and Allahabad to sell carpet and make their living.
