Mark Abrahams (born 30 September 1978) is an English guitarist. He is known for his work as a member of the 1970s rock band Wishbone Ash from 2017 to present.[1]

Career[edit]

During a visit to a music store in 1998, Abrahams began what turned out to be a 20 year long career in music retail. Abrahams worked in several music retail stores until 2009 when he opened his own store, Vision Guitars in Castleford, West Yorkshire. In 2012 he won an award from BBC dragon Theo Paphitis for his Twitter #SBS business competition entry While working in the music stores Abrahams also worked extensively with the Yorkshire rock outfit Coyote, which saw him playing 100 lives shows per year around England and included shows with American guitarist Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal (Guns n Roses) and Oliver Dawson Saxon. Vision Guitars closed in October 2017 due to Marks extensive touring commitments with Wishbone Ash in June 2018 Abrahams joined American blues guitar legend, Walter Trout, on stage at the Brudenell Club in Marks home town of Leeds to perform "Gonna Hurt Like Hell"[2]

Wishbone Ash[edit]

Abrahams, a long time fan of the band, joined Wishbone Ash in 2017 replacing guitarist Muddy Manninen and made his live debut on June 7th at the Sweden Rock Festival[3][4][5] In 2019 he co-wrote and recorded the 2020 Wishbone Ash album release Coat Of Arms - released 28th February 2020 on the Steamhammer/SPV record label. The lead single 'We Stand As One' was premiered live during the bands 50th anniversary tour in late 2019 and released on 10th January 2020.[6][7] He also features on the two most recent releases in the Roadworks series of live Wishbone Ash CDs, recorded in Sacramento, California and Tokyo, Japan. As of 2020, Abrahams has played over 300 shows in 20 countries with Wishbone Ash including South Africa, Japan, Europe and America performing shows alongside Status Quo, Bonnie Tyler and Procol Harum and in January 2020 completed an arena tour of Germany with Uriah Heep and Nazareth[8] Abrahams is an endorsee and user of Tokai Guitars and Italian made Nemphasis Pedals and has featured in online and magazine marketing for both companies[9][10][11]
