Saba Karim (born 1986), is an Australian entrepreneur, public speaker, and venture capitalist. He is best known for being the head of startup pipeline at Techstars,[1][2] the largest pre-seed investor in the world[3], and co-founder/partner of Rising Stars (backed by Amazon, and X (formerly Twitter)).[4]
He is the founder and CEO of Favs, a social network focused on connecting close friends[5] that's set to be launched in 2024.[6]
Saba attended Deakin University from 2004 to 2007, earning a bachelor's degree in commerce. From 2009 to 2010, he completed his master's degree in communication. In 2014, Saba pursued post-graduate certification at Stanford University.[7]
Saba's prior positions in companies include serving as a head of customer acquisition for Lorem (now Storetasker (backed by Flybridge)), CMO for Evolve[8] (backed by Spark Capital, acquired by HubSpot: NYSE: HUBS), and advisor for SparkCharge, GlossGenius, Novo Bank, and others.[2] Saba was also in the founding team of Orai, an AI-powered public-speaking app.[9][1]
In the early days of his career, Saba also worked as a photographer for Telstra.[10]
Saba is a public speaker who delivers keynotes on topics like pitching, growth marketing, and fundraising. He is frequently invited to judge startup pitch competitions at major events, including Web Summit in Lisbon and Denver Startup Week.[11]
He was also a frequent speaker at events like TechCrunch Disrupt.[9][1]
