The Oregon Salary Increase for State Legislatures Amendment, also known as Measure 1, was on the June 1, 1908 ballot in Oregon as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was defeated. The measure would have increased the total compensation of legislators from $120 to $400 for each regular legislative session and from $3 plus mileage to $10 for each day of a special session.^[1]

The Following Is The Number and Form in Which the Question will be Printed on the Official Ballot:

Referred to the People by the Legislative Assembly

For an amendment of Section 28 (evidently intended to be section 29) of Article IV of the Constitution, changing the compensation of members of the Legislature to $400 for each regular session and $10 per day for extra session instead of $3 per day and mileage. (Section 28 provides the time when laws take effect, and the proposed amendment is, therefore, wrongly numbered.) --- Vote YES or NO.

Measure 1 was proposed by the legislative assembly and was filed in the office of the Secretary of State on February 13, 1907.^[1]
