The Maryland Clerk Appointments in Washington County Amendment, also known as Question 13, was on the November 7, 1972 ballot in Maryland as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure provided that in Washington County the deputy clerks of court and other clerks be appointed and removed according the merit system.[1]
