Super Sentai Series (スーパー戦隊シリーズ Suupaa Sentai Shiriizu; 'Super Squadron Series') is a Japanese superhero series and franchise begun in 1975, which generally mixes live action material with extensive special effects (the tokusatsu genre). Footage from the series was used in the Power Rangers series from 1993, with American actors replacing the originals.
