Charles Sheldon

Charles Monroe Sheldon was a clergyman, author, and prominent figure in the Social Gospel movement. He is best known for coining the phrase "What would Jesus Do?"

Life[edit]

He was born on February 20, 1857, in Wellsville New York. In 1889, he became the pastor of the Central congregational church of Topeka Kansas.[1] He died on February 24, 1946.
