Gonzalo Curiel

Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel.jpg
Judge Gonzalo Curiel serves as a judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.

President Barack Obama appointed him to the bench in 2011. He has gained notoriety through his handling of the lawsuit involving "Trump University," one of several enterprises founded and run by Donald J. Trump, who ran for President in 2016.

In fact, Judge Curiel revealed[1] freely his association with the Hispanic advocacy group La Raza Lawyers of San Diego (not to be confused with the National Council of La Raza[2]) and the Latino Judges Association.[3] Moreover, he has perhaps sullied his reputation for impartiality with a series of questionable rulings.[4]
