2016[edit]

Huot's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[5]

Grow and Create Jobs

To keep Minnesota a place of innovation and opportunity, I know we need to invest in companies that provide paid sick and family leave time. In St. Paul, I will work to bring good paying jobs to our community.

Invest in Education

As a father of three, I know the importance of preparing our kids to succeed. I support plans to expand early childhood education and freeze tuition at our colleges and universities.

Improve Our Infrastructure

I believe in sustainable funding to improve our roads and bridges. I know every Minnesotan deserves to go to work and school on safe, reliable roads.

Manage and Improve Health Care

To provide for the well-being of all Minnesotans, I know we need to ensure healthcare is affordable and accessible to everyone.

Support for Veterans

I believe our government needs to fulfill its obligation to our veterans, whether they are aging soldiers or those just returning home from service. We need to get them back to work and support them through their transition.[6]

Scorecards[edit]

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Minnesota

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.

Click here for an overview of legislative scorecards in all 50 states.  To contribute to the list of Minnesota scorecards, email suggestions to editor@ballotpedia.org.
