Chivalry in the Bible exists numerous times, both obvious and subtle. Here is a growing list of examples:
- the invitation to the stranger on the road to Emmaus (later discovered to be Jesus) to stay the night rather than continue walking after darkness fell.
- the respectful waiting by John for Peter to arrive at the Tomb before entering.
- the insistence by Peter that he be crucified upside down out of respect for the Crucifixion of Jesus.
