King Kenneth MacAlpin, commonly known as "Kenneth I" was the first king of Scotland unifying the Kingdoms of the Picts and the Scots in 843.[1] He died in 858 and was buried on Iona. Much of what is known about his is legend or myth, passed along from generation to generation, until written down during Kenneth II's rule in 971–995.
