A Monclova Township Police Levy Addition measure was on the November 8, 2011 ballot in the township of Monclova which is in Lucas County.

This measure was approved

  • YES 2,585 (50.78%)Approveda
  • NO 2,506 (49.22%)[1]

This measure sought to add to the current police levy by a rate of $.15 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for police operations, salaries and equipment costs in the township.[2]

Text of measure[edit]

The question on the ballot:

An additional tax for the benefit of Monclova Township for the purpose of providing and maintaining motor vehicles, communications, other equipment, buildings, and sites for such buildings used directly in the operation of a police department, or the payment of salaries of permanent police personnel, including the payment of the police officer employers' contribution required under section 742.33 of the Revised Code, or the payment of the costs incurred by townships as a result of contracts made with other political subdivisions in order to obtain police protection, or the provision of ambulance or emergency medical services operated by a police department at a rate not exceeding 1.5 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.15 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for 5 years, commencing in 2011, first due in calendar year 2012.[3]
