2. The whig party was against slavery, and they were for national banks.
3. Manifest Destiny started it and the Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo ended it in 1848.
4. I think Abraham Lincoln was the most important person during that time, because even being outnumbered by the confederates he was still able to win the Civil war. If he had not been president maybe someone else wouldn’t have made General Grant General of the Army.
5. It was basically a separation in Kansas where some people wanted slaves and others didn’t. Whoever didn’t want them, people who did would shut them down or kill them, and it went back and forth.
6. It is Steven Douglas getting a beating because he pushed through a passage of the Act. Historians consider this ill-advised law to be the greatest single step towards the Civil War.
7. If Steven Douglas had not pushed that passage through in the senate it might have been put off. But it would have come eventually.

H1. I do not think he should have lied to Congress about it.
H2. It abolished slave trade in D.C. but they were still able to have slaves. It admitted California as a free state, the South had the right to bring slaves into the southwest territories.
H4. No it didn’t do anything for John Brown. All it did was kill more pro slave people and maybe even some anti slavery people.
