An effort in Asbury Park, New Jersey, to recall City Councilor Jesse Kendle from his position was launched in January 2016. Duane Small, Mabin Womble and Brian Bass filed a notice of intention to recall with the city that was approved on January 29, 2016.[1] As of December 2016, this recall effort appeared to be abandoned and Ballotpedia discontinued active coverage. The Asbury Park City Clerk sent a letter to recall organizers on January 29, 2016, noting that their notice of intention to recall complied with state law. The group needed to submit at least 2,175 valid signatures from city voters to trigger a recall election. This total equaled 25 percent of registered voters in the city as of the 2015 general election.[1]
