Scrying is seeing at a distance or across time. In the past it was considered an aspect of magic or sorcery. In modern times there has been research into paranormal or psychic abilities.

The object used for scrying could be a crystal ball, mirror, water in a bowl, or any item that helps focus the users concentration.

The actual source of visions varies depending on the person's views and their religion.
