Simon Marius

From Conservapedia

Simon Maius was a German astronomer who named the four moons of Jupiter. He lived 1573 - 1624.[1][2]

There is some dispute over his claim to have discovered the moons of Jupiter and they are generally credited to Galileo.[1][2]
