Solly Zuckerman

Sir Solly Zuckerman (1906 - 1993) was professor of anatomy at Birmingham University (1946–68) and chief scientific adviser to the British Ministry of Defence in 1960.[1] Zuckerman was also chief scientific adviser to the British government from 1964 to 1971.[2] Knighted in 1956, Zuckerman was given a life peerage in 1971.[3] Zuckerman performed research regarding primates and published several books including The Social Life of Monkeys and Apes (1932) and Functional Affinities of Man, Monkeys and Apes (1933).[4] Zuckerman's also authored an autobiography, From Apes to Warlords, which was published in 1971.[5]
