American values are the common values that all real Americans hold dear: to hold dearly the teachings of the Bible, to always love one's neighbor, and to support the ideals of Americanism, Republicanism and small government (contrast with big government, nanny state and police state), which have made the United States so great.
These traditional values on which the U.S. was founded, also include supporting and defending the Constitution and its Bill of Rights, gun ownership, faith, and libertarian conservative values and ideology since the time of the Founding Fathers. As every other nation is defined by Race and ethnicity, America is defined by values. These values are E Pluribus Unum, Liberty and In God We Trust. Because of these values, America became the world's freest and most prosperous country. Conservatives understand the importance of these values and want to protect them. [1] Other American values include; independence, privacy, competition, and consumerism.[2]
