Genetic Determinism

Genetic determinism says that genes completely determine how an organism turns out. Genetic determinism is based on materialism and evolutionism.

John Dupré, Professor of Sociology and Director of the ESRC Centre for Genomics in Society at the University of Exeter, thinks that genetic determinism is false. Dupre criticizes the idea that all the information that is passed from parents to offspring is in the DNA. [1]
