Abstract Algebra

Abstract algebra is a branch of algebra that generalizes elementary algebra to include various algebraic structures. An algebraic structure is a combination of a set with one or more operations. Algebraic structures include groups (see group theory), fields, and rings amongst others. For example, elementary algebra (see algebra) is an algebraic structure consisting of the set of complex numbers with various operations, such as addition, multiplication, logarithms, etc.^[1]
