Ligament

From Conservapedia

A ligament is a strong band of white fibrous connective tissue found in the joint areas. They either join bones to other bones or bones to cartilage. Ligaments help to hold the bones firmly in place.

Ligaments tend to be pliable but not elastic. They allow freedom of movement within a limited range, such as with the knee.

Other types of ligaments form fibrous sheets that support internal organs such as the kidneys or the spleen.
