In the Iliad, he was wounded by Diomedes and saved from death from Achilles. Alongside his military prowess, he was known for being pious and dutiful.Virgil's Aeneid tells the story of how Aeneas led the surviving Trojans away after the war, eventually settling in modern-day Italy, where their descendents became the Romans.
