Joseph Graham "Gray" Davis, Jr was the 37th Governor of California (1999-2003) and the second governor in United States history to be successfully recalled. He also served as the Lt. Governor of California (1995-1999), the California State Controller (1987-1995), and as a California State Assemblyman (1983-1987). As governor, he succeeded Pete Wilson and was succeeded by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
