Mahmoodabad is a small village of 258 hectares in Nawabganj Tehsil in Barabanki district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Mahmoodabad depends on Dewa (NP), the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One Well supply and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Mahmoodabad's pin code is 225301[4], and village code is 05747600.

Mahmoodabad has One public telephone. Mahmoodabad has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Dewa (NP) and Barabanki to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
