From Mdwiki

World Health Organization prequalification of medicines is an effort to verify reasonable quality, safety, and effectiveness of specific medicines made by a manufacturer.[1] This supports the ability of organizations such as UNICEF and UNITAID to buy medicines needed in low and middle income countries.[1]
