Reasonable Belief Doctrine

The reasonable belief doctrine is a legal term describing limitation on claims for retaliation filed under Title VII: the employee who sues for retaliation must show that she had a reasonable, good faith belief that her initial complaint about discrimination was legitimate in order to recover for retaliation in response to her complaint.
