1. Abraham Lincoln wanted to save the Union above all else.

Correct.

2. the 13th Amendment banned slavery.

the 14th Amendment gave equal rights to all people and races, but it has also been cited as reason to give equal rights to women.

the 15th Amendment let everyone vote (who was over voting age).

2 out of 3 ain't bad! (Minus 2).

3. General Robert E. Lee for his tactical genius and willingness to surrender at Appomatox. Also, he was a Christian.

4. I would not have sent the Union Army to govern, we should have welcomed the southern states back. The Amendments, had they been any weaker, would have allowed for harsher and more numerous Jim Crow laws. If they had been stronger they would have imposed inhibitions on the power of states to pass laws. It could be argued that certain clauses of the Reconstruction Amendments are too strong as it is. The Fourteenth Amendment has already given grounds for Affirmative Action, and allowed the Supreme Court to make radical rulings through judicial review.

5. Not really. Many people are just inherently independent. But perhaps McClellan would not have disliked him as much if he had been public schooled.

6. This must of been right before the election of 1864. Columbia is chasing Lincoln out of the White House as another guy walks in. Lincoln is having a dream that the people elect McClellan.

7. The Burlingame treaty meant the Chinese could come into the U.S. (I dont know what the Chinese got in return for this.) This bothered the western settlers who felt the Chinese where barbarian heathens. It's ironic that America's fastest growth occurred at the height of its prejudice.

Where's the rest??? It's now 2 days past the deadline! Let me know on my talk page when you finish this.--Aschlafly 19:17, 25 October 2008 (EDT)
