A DeWitt Library District Operating Tax Levy proposal was defeated on the May 7, 2013, election ballot in Clinton County, which is in Michigan.
If approved, this measure would have authorized the DeWitt Library District to increase its property tax limits to 1.39 mills ($1.39 per $1,000 of assessed valuation) for 20 years in order to fund the operation and maintenance of the district. | “ | Shall the DeWitt District Library, County of Clinton, increase the tax limitation up to an amount not to exceed 1.39 mills ($1.39 on each $1,000 dollars of taxable value) against all taxable real and tangible personal property within the DeWitt District Library District for a period of twenty (20) years, 2013 to 2032, inclusive, for the purpose of providing funds for all district library purposes authorized by law; and shall the DeWitt District Library levy such millage for said such purpose?
