Marc Gustafson is the Director of the White House Situation Room and an intelligence advisor to President Biden.[1][2][3][4][5][6] He previously served as the Chief of Intelligence[7] for the National Security Council (NSC) and as both the Director and Acting Senior Director for African Affairs during the last three years of the Obama Administration.[8] Gustafson holds a BA from NYU[9] and an MPHIL from Oxford University, where he was a Marshall Scholar.[10] [11] His doctoral dissertation focused on the history of elections and democracy in Sudan.[12][13][14]
