John Elmer Linder (born September 9, 1942) has served as the U.S. Representative from various Georgia congressional districts since 1993 and is a member of the Republican Party.

Raised in Minnesota, Linder moved to Atlanta and practiced dentistry for 13 years. In 1977, he started the Linder Financial Corporation, a leading institution for entrepreneurial ventures in the south. In 1974 he was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives, where he served for 14 years. Linder was elected to Congress in 1992, defeating State Senator Cathey Steinberg by a 51%-49% margin. Linder became a close ally to Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, and was given a seat on the House Rules Committee and served as chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee during the 1998 elections. Currently, Linder serves on the powerful House Ways and Means Committee.

Linder is a staunch advocate of the FairTax, which would abolish all federal income taxes, including payroll taxes, and replace it with a 23% national retail sales tax.
