This measure sought to replace the current school levy which is set to expire with one set at a rate of $1.79 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further three years in order to pay for general education maintenance and operational costs in the district.^[2]

The question on the ballot:

The Board of Directors of the Republic School District No. 309 adopted Resolution No. 11-09. This proposition would authorize the District to levy the following excess taxes, in place of an expiring levy, of $499,500 to be collected in the years 2013, 2014, and 2015, requiring approximately $1.79 per thousand of assessed valuation each year respectively, to be placed in the General Fund for General Fund Programs Maintenance and Operation of Republic School District No 309: Collection Year: 2013-2015; Approximate Rate Per $1,000 Assessed Value: $1.79; Levy Amount: $499,50.^[3]
