Burma Economic Watch (BEW) is a periodical produced by Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia . The journal is published by Burma Economic Watch, a group that monitors economic developments in Myanmar (Burma), established by economist Sean Turnell in 2001.[1] The journal provides information and analysis on the economy of Burma. BEW is edited by Alison Vicary and Sean Turnell.[2] First published in 2004, BEW is one of few academic peer-reviewed journals that focuses exclusively on Myanmar (Burma), alongside SOAS Bulletin of Burma Research and Journal of Burma Studies.[3][4]
