Garrick Utley

Garrick Utley is an American radio and television broadcaster. In his over 40 year journalistic broadcasting career, he has worked at NBC, ABC, CNN, as well as Public Radio and Public Television. In the 1970s Utley served at NBC as the moderator of the hugely popular Meet the Press, Chief Foreign Correspondent, Today, and moderator of the Sunday edition of NBC Nightly News. In 1993-1996, he again took the position of Chief Foreign Correspondent, but this time for another network, ABC.^[1]

Utley left ABC in 1996 and received as position as contributor to CNN, he worked there until 2002. Currently he is co-host of a national affairs program on Public Radio, America Abroad. He has also authored the book on the expansion of television news, You Should Have Been Here Yesterday

Awards[edit]

In his broadcasting career, Utly has received many distinguished journalism awards, including the Overseas Press Club's Edward R. Murrow award and the George Peabody Award.^[2]
