Armistice

The term "armistice" means a cease-fire or cessation of hostilities in war. It is most commonly used to describe the end of hostilities in the First World War that took place at 11.00h on 11 November 1918, "the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month", and 11 November is known as "Armistice Day."
