United States Pacific Command

The United States Pacific Command (USPACOM) is the military authority for all branches of the United States Armed Forces serving under its area of responsibility. The USPACOM is headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii and covers the area between the west coast of the U.S. and the easst coast of Africa.[1]

The Commander of USPACOM reports operationally to the Secretary of Defense and the President. However, in the administrative chain of command, the USPACOM reports through the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The current Commander of USPACOM is Admiral Timothy J. Keating.
