Savoie was a 2018 Democratic candidate for Louisiana's 1st Congressional District in the U.S. House. Savoie lost the primary on November 6, 2018.

I joined the National Guard in 1974 and retired from the military in 2016. I joined the Air Force is 1994. I retired as Lt. Colonel in the US Air Force and Chief International Health, Air Force Central Command.
