Italian poet of the eighteenth century; born at Sienna; died at Leghorn 1794. On the completion of his Hebrew and secular studies at Sienna he went to Leghorn, where he became a member of the yeshibah. He formed an intimate friendship with the family of the wealthy merchant Eliezer Shealtiel Recanati, and continued his Talmudic studies in the school founded by the latter. His poems are included in Piperno's "Ḳol 'Ugab."
