The company was founded in 2005 as StoAmigo.
In 2016, the company received a patent for a secure media distribution system.[1]
In 2018, StoAmigo rebranded as AXEL, short for ‘Autonomous eXchange via Entrusted Ledger.[2] AXEL was granted a patent for its Autonomous Exchange via Entrusted Ledger technology in 2020.[3] The technology uses a token identification system to verify individual transactions and create records of previous transactions.[4] The technology also uses a digital wallet and signature to verify individual users in the blockchain.[5] [6]
In 2019, AXEL received a patent for a secure method of communication between media hosts and clients.[7]
In 2019, AXEL released AXEL Go, a cloud-based file sharing software program. In 2021, AXEL Go was reviewed by Lawyerist, receiving a positive review.[8]
